Simple Moulds

Let’s start with the basics. Using simple moulds that often come with starter sets, you can begin making pretty jewellery items right away.
What You’ll Need
Roughly £12 – 25 if you use a starter kit (available on Amazon)
- 2-part epoxy resin (resin and hardener)
- Silicone moulds of your choice
- 3 mixing cups and stirring sticks
- Glitter
- Toothpick
- Safety gear
Steps
Step 1
Pour the resin and hardener
Pour equal amounts of resin and hardener into separate mixing cups.

Step 2
Mix the resin and hardener together
Pour both into your third mixing cup. Use a stirring stick to slowly mix the resin for 5 minutes. It is important to do this slowly to avoid too many bubbles forming. Squish any bubbles that form.

Step 3
Add your extras
Add any extras, such as glitter or colour to your resin and continue stirring.

Step 4
Pour into the mould
Pour carefully into the moulds until it reaches the rim. Do not overfill.

Step 5
Wait and pop any bubbles
Wait about 10 minutes, then pop any bubbles that may have risen to the surface with a toothpick.

Step 6
Leave to cure
Cover and leave to cure for around 24 hours and unmould.

And there you are. You’ve made your first resin!
