About

What is cure8 all about?

It’s no secret that lots of us suffer from stress. Our day-to-day lives are packed with all sorts of nags and niggles, some big, some small. A creative outlet can be just the thing to help us deal with life and all it throws at us. Resincraft is perfect for this – not only is it relatively easy to learn, but it is also only takes a few minutes to mix and pour. We can then let the magic happen as we leave it to cure, leaving us plenty of time to get on with living our lives.

cure8.uk was built as a jumping off point for anyone keen to get started with this fascinating craft, or anyone looking for new ideas. As well as tips for beginners, the site curates (heh) some of the most interesting resin techniques in a series of tutorials. As you can see, I sometimes make mistakes in my tutorials, but I do my best to point them out as I go. It’s a learning curve for us all! I hope this site helps you start your curing journey.

About the website creator

Website creator Zara wearing a brightly coloured hat

I’ve always liked creative things. A few years ago I got into crochet in a big way, and made everything from cuddly Pokemon to woolly hats.

However, my hat-making reverie began to dwindle as life got in the way. I was working full-time, I had a side job tutoring creative writing, and I was trying to teach myself to code. Time for creativity became rarer and rarer. I certainly didn’t have time to sit with my crochet hooks and balls of yarn for hours at a time.

When I was gifted a resin set one Christmas, I was pleased but conflicted. All of the resin stuff I’d seen online looked so professional and beautiful. How could I ever hope to make things that looked, well, nice? And how would I find the time?

I needn’t have worried. As long as I had a spare few minutes to mix and pour and read some instructions, then I could make some lovely things. And so can you.
